"I believe in what CXC is doing and happy to support you guys. And as a bonus I get access to some of the best coaching available!" - CXC Master Skier
“I am blown away by the amount of value CXC is providing through their CXC Masters Team memberships or a subscription to the CXC Online Academy (buy it separately if you want, but it is included with the Masters Team Membership). I am excited about the future of skiing for me and for all of the skiers and ski organizations that are fortunate to have an interaction with the CXC Team.” - CXC Master Skier
PROGRAM FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
Technique Training and Sports Testing
CXC uses the latest sports science research to demonstrate the enhancement of training and technique. The CXC coaching staff along with the CXC Team Vertical Limit coach Bryan Fish will analyze and critique your technique. A technique group session will review advanced technique for both classic and skate.
CXC Masters Team consists of several different Chapters. Chapters are found throughout the Midwest, and have a CXC coach assigned to each. These coaches provide consistent technique training year-round on a pre-determined schedule unique to a specific Chapter.
An individual session will allow you to focus on details by getting instant visual feedback through video analysis using state-of-the-art Dartfish Software. Individual sessions can be scheduled with your Chapter’s coach around group sessions or during CXC Masters Team Camps.
Silver and Gold Level Members will go through sports testing and evaluation on in-house VO2 and Blood Lactate Testing Equipment. Scientific sports performance testing will provide essential information for successful training and racing including accurate threshold levels, individual training intensity levels, and oxygen utilization efficiency. Gold Level Members receive weekly video analysis via email throughout the year. This invaluable service will help reinforce technique progression between Camp and Chapter visits.
Training Plans:
There is no better way to excel in training and racing than by having a structure plan and easy to follow detailed guidelines for workouts. Every CXC Masters Team member will receive a complimentary CXC Academy Annual Membership. The CXC Academy provides a unique opportunity to create and follow a training program designed by professional coaches.
The CXC Academy will provide you with yearly and monthly training overviews, objectives, and goals to give you a better understanding of the foundations necessary to create a training plan. CXC coaches will guide your planning of training hours for the entire year. Each month the program will provide a sample week of daily workouts and instructions for implementation.

"Joining CXC has been a dream comes true for me. I started xc skiing in
1977 and did my first Birkie in 1978. After a long sabbatical from skiing, I learned how to skate ski 4-5 years ago. I joined the CXC Masters Team late season 2008 and got some early coaching from Oyvind and Yuriy which made major improvements to both my technique and comfort level skating. Then in Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to go to the Yellowstone Ski Festival with CXC. The coaching by Yuriy, Bryan Fish and several of the CXC Elite Team members significantly improved my skiing. Some subtle changes had major impact. The CXC video analysis has been especially helpful along with the CXC Academy. Thus I highly recommend the CXC Masters Team to anyone who loves the sport as much as I and hopes to improve both their technique and results."
Jim Michler
Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin
"We gained a lot of new knowledge in the field of cross country ski technique in last two years with our CXC Ski Team and by working closely with the US Ski Team coaches. We also understand that personal attention and feedback are critical components in technique development. This camp is the best opportunity for athletes at every level to improve their technique. Small groups separated by ability level will be a very effective tool and method to improve technical skills.”
Yuriy Gusev
CXC Executive Director
