CXC MARATHON CUPThe CXC Marathon Cup connects the premiere cross country ski events across the Central region. Sanctioned and scored by the Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC), the Cup includes races in each of the three main states in the region - two races in Michigan, two in Wisconsin, and three in Minnesota.
The 2020 series is split between classic and skate racing, with three classic races, three skate weekends, and one skiathlon weekend.
Individuals do not have to compete in all 7 events to be scored as a marathon cup competitor. Each result you have is added to your yearly total, up to your best 3 races, whether it is just one, a few, or the entire series.
All event participants are included in the age group rankings which are posted a few days after each event. As you compare your position with your competition, consider purchasing a CXC Nordic Membership and help support skiing and ski racing in the Central Region.
To be eligible for the Marathon Cup awards, a CXC Nordic Membership is required.
2020 CXC MARATHON CUP SCHEDULE
If a CXC Marathon Cup race is modified (e.g. a classic race becomes a freestyle race), the equivalent race will count toward Cup points.
If a Cup race is postponed, the postponed race will count toward Cup points, unless the postponement date is on the same weekend as a different Cup race, in which case the originally scheduled Cup race for that weekend will count toward Cup points.
