The CXC Junior Development Program (JDP) is a year-round approach to training that focuses on long-term development with support from full time CXC/U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 200 Certified Coaching staff who are committed to helping U16-U20 athletes achieve their skiing goals.
The vision of the program is to promote an environment for motivated junior cross country skiers to succeed in attaining their performance goals.
Of our 9 full Junior Development Program (JDP) athletes this past year, all athletes that were healthy throughout the season qualified for the 2020 Junior National Team Trip.
The intent of the JDP is not to replace your local team, but to work with your local team to provide each individual programing opportunities to strive to achieve at high levels. The JDP will work best for a young athlete if they are working daily with a local club or HS team coach during the on snow ski season.
CXC Junior Development Program athletes generally strive to compete at national competition and continue their skiing career on an NCAA ski team.

PLANNING FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON
As each of you are planning for the 2020-2021 season, at CXC we want to let you know of the opportunities to collaborate and supplement your planning.
Of our 9 full Junior Development Program (JDP) athletes this past year, all athletes that were healthy throughout the season qualified for the Junior Nationals in California. We believe each program that had an athlete in the CXC JDP program found the supplemental opportunities to be beneficial to both the athletes and the program.
For this coming year, much of our JDP programing is going to go virtual until we have the clearance to host training camps and attend races. The vision of the program is still to promote an environment for motivated junior cross country skiers to succeed in attaining their performance goals. The intent of the JDP is not to replace your local team, but to work with it to provide each individual the programing opportunities to strive to achieve at high levels.
Please look and talk over the CXC Junior Development Program with those who you feel may be interested or who would benefit. Then, follow up to get an initial informational meeting scheduled between the athlete(s), myself and, at your option, your coaching staff.

Besides these services, we will also offer ala carte services at additional costs, but discounted from regular prices, as they become available. These would include our fitness testing/technique evaluation sessions at our Center of Excellence, including one of 2 rollerski treadmills in the region, and CXC Junior Training Camps (both dryland an on snow). These Camps will be offered to our full JDP members first.
