Adaptive Nordic Skiing
Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) is recognized as a Gold Medal Paralympic Sport Club Excellence Program, dedicated to making cross-country skiing accessible for individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments.
Adaptive Ski Equipment
The CXC Nordic Rocks Program is dedicated to making cross-country skiing accessible to all - including individuals with visual, physical, or cognitive disabilities.
To support this mission, CXC has designed and manufactured sit-skis for individuals with limited mobility. Each sit-ski features a seat mounted to skis with a supportive frame. Skiers can propel themselves with adjustable-length poles or use a detachable rear push handle for assisted skiing.
Veterans Program
Through the CXC Adaptive Sports Program, we partner with veterans’ organizations and work directly with disabled veterans and members of the armed forces to host clinics, trap and field shoots, air rifle target shooting, and laser biathlon events. These activities provide adaptive equipment and a supportive instructional environment - creating opportunities for participation and connection.
Our Veterans programs are made possible through outside support. Travel, instruction, and participant services are a reality thanks to the Federal VA Grant.

CXC Adaptive Cup
To broaden participation in cross-country skiing, CXC hosts a race series where athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments can compete alongside their peers.
The CXC Adaptive Cup, sanctioned and scored by Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) and U.S. Ski & Snowboard, features a series of events in Minnesota and Michigan for athletes ages 20 and under.
Launched in the winter of 2018, the series advances adaptive cross-country skiing by helping athletes develop racing skills and offering challenging competition opportunities within the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee's (USOPC) pipeline.
How We Do It
Fundraising is essential to sustaining the programs and services we provide to the ski community. Whether supporting veterans, adaptive athletes, youth, juniors, or elite skiers, we rely on memberships and the generosity of fundraising events. Much of our ability to provide this support also comes from partnerships with corporate sponsors.
Every donation makes a difference - and is deeply appreciated!
- Thank you!
