The TREK bike drawing fundraiser supports the CXC Adaptive Program, which provides adaptive sit-ski equipment and helps people with disabilities learn and experience cross-country skiing.
Our goal is to raise $25,000.
We have 250 limited edition tickets available for purchase at a price of $100 each. Starting on May 23, the tickets will be up for sale, and sales will cease once all 250 tickets are sold. Participants have the opportunity to "adopt" a rubber duck by purchasing a ticket with a corresponding number.
A winner will be selected during a drawing on Monday, July 29. The drawing process will be a live-streamed rubber duck race in which we will race all ducks at once. The winner is determined by the numbered rubber duck that crosses a predetermined point in the water first.
Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) will contact the winner of the TREK bike drawing via email and phone to confirm their bike selection and sizing and make arrangements for delivery.
"Thanks again for the use of the sit ski! We went out on our own and Jacob also had his first lesson today."
- Kevin Bjork (Madison, WI)
"Thank you so much for all that you did to help Adapted Fitness clients and students. With limited snow this year we are glad skiing was still possible."
- Nick, Student Volunteer in Leadership in Adapted Fitness
We invite you to contribute to this meaningful fundraiser and help more individuals experience the joy of outdoor winter activities!
With each $500, we can produce and supply a complete set of equipment, including:
- A sit-ski frame
- Cross-country skis compatible with the frame
- A pair of adjustable ski poles
A sit-ski unit consists of a seat attached to a frame that connects to a pair of skis, designed for individuals with mobility challenges from conditions like spinal cord injuries, limb amputation, or temporary impairments.
The sit-ski includes an assembled frame, mounted cross-country skis, and adjustable poles. Users can propel themselves with poles or have a helper use an optional push handle attached to the back of the sled.
At CXC we offer three primary avenues to enhance accessibility to entry-level adaptive sit ski equipment: permanent placement, where equipment is allocated to individuals or organizations for extended use; a loaner program, allowing users to temporarily borrow the equipment for a specified duration; and redistribution, where equipment is regularly circulated among users to ensure equitable access. These initiatives foster inclusivity and cater to the diverse requirements of participants in adaptive sports and recreational activities.
